August Employee Spotlight: Angela

Our Employee Spotlight series shows off our wonderful staff and takes you along to learn more about the stories and backgrounds of our team members at Bliss Dermatology Group. This month, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Angela Sommers.

 

 

Tell us about yourself! How did you get into dermatology? I have been in the Customer Service field for over 20 years. I did take some time off to raise my kids, but always wanted to return to the medical field. I have always been interested in anything skin and hair related. My family has dealt with various skin conditions that I now know more about and how to treat and/or prevent them.

Why are you passionate about dermatology? Anything involving the skin is very interesting to me. I’ve learned a lot while working at Bliss Dermatology, the providers are great about educating us.

What motivates you to come in and do your best every day? Our patients. I believe you should treat others how you want to be treated. I strive to make our patients feel comfortable during their visit.

Excellence. I feel our patients deserve excellent care, I am one of the first people they see coming to our practice.

What advice do you have for someone considering a career in the dermatology field? You must have compassion to work in the medical field, especially in dermatology. You are dealing with patients that are facing many different skin conditions and they may not be their best, but you must still be yours.

What’s your #1 skin care tip? Always wear sunscreen, (and find a good skincare regimen).

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Boating, shark teeth hunting, and playing with my three German Shepherds.
