Laser Genesis

What is Laser Genesis?

Laser Genesis is a noninvasive skin care treatment that uses a near-infrared (NIR)1064 nm wavelength Nd:YAG laser. It is popular because of its safety and efficacy in treating various skin issues. Studies report that near -infrared irradiation provides safe and effective long-lasting stimulation of elastin for skin rejuvenation. (1) It also stimulates the growth of new collagen which is beneficial for improving dilated pores, skin tone and texture, and wrinkles, with little to no downtime. (2)

The procedure involves gently heating the upper dermis (the layer of skin beneath the surface) with laser energy. This process stimulates the natural production of collagen, a key protein responsible for skin elasticity and firmness. As new collagen is produced over time, patients will notice a more youthful, smooth, and healthy-looking complexion. Treatments typically take 20-30 minutes.

The primary goals of Laser Genesis are to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, minimize large pores, and address uneven skin texture and tone. It can also help in reducing the redness associated with rosacea, and in some cases, it has been used to treat acne and acne scars.

One of the key advantages of Laser Genesis is its minimal downtime and discomfort. It’s often described as a comfortable. Patients experiencing a warming sensation during the procedure. Unlike more aggressive laser treatments, there’s usually no need for topical anesthetics or prolonged recovery times, making it a convenient option for patients seeking a noninvasive approach to skin rejuvenation. Moreover, it is safe for all skin types and tones.

  1. A return to regular activities immediately after treatments
  2. Minimal to no downtime. During the procedure you can expect to feel a warming sensation.
  3. Slight redness immediately after treatment that may feel like a mild sunburn that subsides within a few hours.
  4. Gradual improvement in the skin’s tone and texture and the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles. The gradual nature of the results is due to the time it takes to induce new collagen and elastin formation. The benefits are cumulative. With each treatment the results become more obvious.
  5. No extensive aftercare is required.

The number of treatments required can vary depending on individual goals and the condition of the skin. Typically, a series of four to six treatments, spaced a few weeks apart, is recommended for optimal results. Maintenance treatments may be needed to sustain the benefits.
