Pediatric Dermatology

Children’s skin has different needs than adult skin, and it deserves care from a team who understands those differences. At Bliss Dermatology + Wellness, we provide comprehensive pediatric dermatology services for children and teens, with treatment plans tailored to each patient’s age, skin type, and specific concern.

We know that visiting the dermatologist can feel unfamiliar for young patients and their families. Our team takes the time to explain each condition and treatment plan clearly, creating a comfortable experience for children while providing parents with the medical guidance they need. Every treatment plan is physician-led, individualized, and grounded in current clinical evidence.

We’re glad to coordinate care with your child’s pediatrician and support your child’s broader health goals.

Pediatric Dermatology Conditions and Services

Acne

Adolescent acne is a normal part of hormonal development, but persistent or severe breakouts can affect a teen’s skin health and confidence. We evaluate the type and severity of acne present and recommend treatment options suited to developing skin, with the goal of clearing breakouts while minimizing scarring.

Birthmarks & Moles

Many children have birthmarks or moles that are present from an early age or develop over time. We evaluate these spots and, when appropriate, monitor them at routine visits to track any changes in size, shape, or color—an important step in catching potential concerns early.

Eczema (Atopic Dermatitis)

Eczema is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that causes dry, itchy, and irritated patches of skin, often appearing on the face, elbows, and knees. It’s common in children and can flare in response to triggers like weather, allergens, or irritants. We develop management plans aimed at reducing flare-ups, relieving discomfort, and supporting the skin barrier over the long term.

Rashes & Skin Allergies

Rashes, hives, and allergic skin reactions can stem from a wide range of causes, including irritants, allergens, food sensitivities, or underlying skin conditions. We work to identify the cause of your child’s rash and provide a treatment plan to relieve symptoms and prevent recurrence.

Skin Checks & Screenings

Routine skin evaluations help track your child’s overall skin health over time. These visits are especially useful for children with a family history of skin conditions or skin cancer, or those with several moles or birthmarks that warrant ongoing monitoring.

Wart Removal

Warts are common viral skin growths in children, often spread through skin-to-skin contact or shared surfaces. While frequently harmless, they can be persistent or spread if left untreated. We offer safe, age-appropriate treatment methods to clear these growths and reduce the chance of recurrence.

When Children Should See a Dermatologist

Consider scheduling a visit if your child has:

A rash that persists or worsens despite home care

A mole or birthmark that changes in size, shape, or color

Acne that hasn’t improved with over-the-counter treatment

Signs of a skin allergy, such as hives, swelling, or reactions to a new product

Skin symptoms that affect daily comfort or activities
